A severe cold front has moved into the area earlier this week. Reports say that The National Weather Service issued a wind chill advisory on Tuesday night. There is no doubt winter is here in full force as temperatures drop into the single digits and wind chills as cold as -15%. Connecticut Movers say it is best to avoid going outside unless necessary. There is light at the end of the tunnel though, Windsor Movers say that temperatures are expected to jump back up to around 40%. -Dress in layers – loose fitting clothing in layers proves as a very efficient insulator.

-Avoid alcohol – can make your body loose heat more quickly

-Avoid caffeinated beverages - can make your body loose heat more quickly

-Protect infants – they lose body heat much faster than adults.

-Check regularly on the elderly – can lose body heat much faster than adults.

-Warm beverages – these can help keep your body warm from the inside out.
